Description
Victorian Mahogany and Brass Campaign Chest by London Maker in two parts with the top with two over one deep drawer over two drawers. Recessed brass handles signed G.L Williams 41 New Bond St London. Ending on toupie feet. George Langford Williams specialized in trunk and camp equipment. He is recorded in the London Commercial Directory for the year 1865 as a trunk and portmanteau manufacturer. He is listed in the book British Campaign Furniture by Nicholas A. Brewer. The condition of this chest is remarkably good.
