Large European Still Life Oil on Canvas Painting with a period carved giltwood frame. Attributed to Giacomo Recco. The painting featuring a fountain with birds in an architectural landscape. Fruit and flowers in vases and bowls. Also a bowl of mushrooms and vegetables. This painting was offered at Christies in 2001 with an estimate of 100,000 to 150,000 and did not sell. A fabulous painting beautifully done. The best of the best. Dated 1651 on the vase. This was offered at Sothebys New York January 27, 2005. Important Old Master Paintings. Estimate 80-120,000. Did not meet reserve and was bought in.
