Description
George I Walnut Bachelors Chest with rectangular quarter veneered hinged top flipping forward to present a writing surface supported on two pull out stick form supports with brass pulls. Below two short drawers over three graduated drawers all with engraved brass handles. Bracket feet. Old sales slip where previous owned price was 45,000. Under the base there are dowels where possibly bun feet once were. The transition would have been sometime shortly after the piece was made because the veneer on the feet is thick and wood of the early to mid-18th century.
