Description
Each with original metal Waldorf Astoria labels and marble tops. Silvery beige breakfront form marble tops over a conforming laurel leaf carved frieze raised on circular tapered stop fluted legs. These were placed in the Towers part of the hotel. Very similar example illustrated in “Jansen” by James Abbott, page 177. When built as the largest hotel in the world the founders selected the very finest designers in the world such as Maison Jansen and White Allom & Co. Charles Allom was knighted for his work on Buckingham Palace. His New York projects included the Henry Clay Frick House, now the Frick Collection.
