Description
Richard Kuehne Silver Leaf Trestle Base Dining Table and Pair of Benches Richard Kuehne of Rockport Massachusetts was the son of prominent artist Max Kuehne. During his lifetime he served as a curator at the Cloisters in New York City as well as Curator of History at the West Point Military Museum and later the director. He perfected his father’s gilding techniques as this table and benches represent. The rectangular top with central pair of incised images of earth. Guilloche incised border. The overall decoration is a silver leaf over a red bol. Trestle supports and stretcher. The pair of benches similarly decorated. Signature is under top.
Condition Note: Wear consistent with age and use. Touch ups to surfaces in spots. Totally solid with no losses and placeable. Retail ready. No lifting and totally useable as a dining table. Benches are 71 long x 16.75 deep x 18.75 high.
